IFC Top Attreactions in Prague

  • Prague Castle & St Vitus Cathedral — The essential Prague attraction. Allow 3–4 hours for the cathedral, Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane and castle grounds.
  • Charles Bridge — Prague’s iconic medieval bridge linking the Old Town with Malá Strana. Best early morning or after dark when the crowds thin out.
  • Old Town Square & Astronomical Clock — The historic heart of Prague. See the Astronomical Clock, Church of Our Lady before Týn and the surrounding medieval streets.
  • National Gallery Prague — Rather than one museum, this is a collection of galleries around the city. For art lovers, I'd prioritise the Trade Fair Palace (Veletržní palác) for modern art or Schwarzenberg Palace near Prague Castle for older European art.
  • National Museum — The imposing building at the top of Wenceslas Square is worth visiting for the building itself as much as the collections. Excellent for Czech history, natural history and culture.
  • Jewish Museum & Josefov — One of Prague's most important historical experiences. The museum encompasses several historic synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery. Allow 2–3 hours rather than treating it as a single museum.
  • Museum of Communism — A very accessible introduction to life in Czechoslovakia under Communist rule, including the Prague Spring and Velvet Revolution. I'd recommend this particularly if it's your first visit and you want to understand Prague's recent history.
  • Strahov Monastery & Library — Close to Prague Castle and home to two spectacular historic library halls. Combine it with the Castle rather than making a separate journey
