It is Hungary’s principal cultural, commercial, industrial, political, and transportation center and covers an area of roughly 525 square miles. The city’s primary allure is the beautiful Danube River as it gracefully meanders its way through the city.
Your city tour will finish at the main Budapest Christmas Market will mulled wine and Christmas cake at Vorosmarty Square.

After a busy morning, you have the afternoon free for independent sightseeing.

In the early evening, meet your local guide for the short walk to the local restaurant for pre-performance dinner and afterwards attend the evening performance of The Nutcracker in the Hungarian State Opera.

Performance Start time: 18:00

Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker has for decades been an essential part of the Opera's run-up to Christmas. Partnering with Tamás Solymosi to choreograph a new fairy-tale ballet for the classical-music piece is a true Nutcracker specialist: the internationally renowned Wayne Eagling. This is the first time in the life of the Hungarian National Ballet that an artist of such worldwide stature has developed a choreography tailored specifically to its members, as well as taking inspiration from them.

Day 3:
This morning, discover Hungary's history as you take a guided tour of Szentendre, known for its museums, galleries and artists. Here, your guide will lead you on a walk through the town and you will then have some free time to shop for arts and crafts, with coffee and cake.
