Day 1 – Monday 03 January 2022
Your tour will start with an early afternoon flight to Vienna. Flying with Aer Lingus, flight departs Dublin at 07:10 and arrives in Vienna at 11:00 (flight times are subject to change at airlines discretion).
On arrival in Vienna, you will meet your local Viennese guide for private coach transfer to the
Hotel Best Western Plus Amedia Wien where you will stay for 4-nights on a bed & breakfast basis.

The Best Western Plus Amedia Wien is located in the vibrant business district Landstrasse - only four metro stops away from the center of Vienna. The hotel rooms are decorated in modern style featuring with designer bathroom with a glass step-in shower or bath tub and tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. The hotel’s public areas include a coffee lounge and hotel bar. Thanks to the hotels proximity to trams and subways, you can enjoy quick and easy access to other exciting areas of Vienna.
This evening, a 3-course welcome dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant.
Day 2 – Tuesday 04 January 2022
Experience the very best of Vienna on guided tour with a stop for coffee and cake in one of Vienna’s traditional cafes. Vienna, one of the most beautiful of Europe's historic and cultural cities, has long been one of the Europe’s most important centres of music and art. The city offers many fascinating museums and art galleries and today you will visit the Albertina Museum.
See the architectural highlights of the city center, including the Ringstrasse, Prater and the soaring spires of St. Stephen's Cathedral. Hear stories about the city’s kings, queens and revolutionaries, with stops for photos of Vienna’s classic sights. A traditional Austrian lunch is included in today’s tour and will be taken at the Cafe Gerstner. After this stop, visit the Albertina Museum, an 8th-century palace in Vienna housing a famous museum of paintings, sculpture, graphic arts, photography, and more.
After your guided tour of the Albertina Musuem, you are free to stay on and admire the museum independently or you can return on the coach to the hotel.
The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city sights independently. Perhaps take another of Vienna’s world class museums, visit one of the city’s renowned coffee houses and watch the world go by or simply relax in your hotel.
Day 3 – Wednesday 05 January 2022
Vienna is considered to be a city of stages – and there is plenty to discover not only in front of but also behind the scenes of Vienna's most famous music venue - The Musikverein. Home to the annual New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic, it is one of the acoustically brilliant concert halls in the world. This backstage tour will give you an idea of the impressive architecture and unique acoustics of the Musikverein for yourself before you attend for your evening performance.
Your duration: 45 minutes.
Afternoon at lesiure.
In the early evening, meet your fellow travellers in the hotel restaurant for a three-course pre-concert dinner.
After dinner, depart by coach once again for the Vienna Musikverein which for many is the highlight of the tour; an orchestral performance by the Tonkunstler Orchestra Niederosterrich.

Day 4 – Thursday 06 January 2022
Today’s excursion is a visit to The Hofburg Palace, a must-see when visiting Vienna. Here you will have a guided tour of the Sisi Museum and Imperial Treasury. Formerly the winter residence of the Austrian royal family, the Hofburg Imperial Palace (Hofburg Wien) is now a lasting tribute to the glory of the Habsburg Empire and stands as the official seat of the Austrian President.
Hofburg Sisi Museum: 1-hour tour
Since 2004 the Sisi Museum has been housed in the Stephan apartments, named after Archduke Stephan Viktor. Here you can view a selection of personal items that once belonged to Elisabeth and which are used to illustrate the true personality of the Empress.
Imperial Treasury: 1-hour tour
Here you can admire the jewels of the Habsburgs. One of the most important treasure chambers in the world, the Imperial Treasury houses the Austrian Imperial Crown, one of the most beautiful crowns in the world, the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire with the Imperial Crown and parts of the original Jewellery of the Empress,
After the tour, you can head back to the hotel on the coach or remain in the center of Vienna.
Day 5 – Friday 07 January 2022
Coach transfer to airport for return flight. Flight departs Vienna at 11:50 and arrives in Dublin at 13:45 (flight times are subject to change at airlines discretion).

Please note that there is a fair amount of walking on this tour, especially in the city walking tour. Ours are active holidays. Walking, stair-climbing and standing around for periods are unavoidable aspects of this tour. This tour is suitable for those of a normal fitness but may not be suitable for those who need support. Walking and getting on and off a coach several times a day is part of the tour. Please note that we reserve the right to amend the timings of the tour itinerary in line with supplier requests and included excursions may take place on different days.
